SNUDEBILLERonline

Our interactive SNUDEBILLER publications (see: Contents of Current Articles) will be subject to a charge - but free for our members - and available for downloading from the internet with the help of the BOOKREADER (at present BOOKREADER 6.0) from January 1st, 2010, onwards. Before you can use the current SNUDEBILLER articles you must download and install the freeware version of the BOOKREADER program (as member of CURCULIO Institute you obtained the version 6.0 with the last SNUDEBILLER CD and you will receive updated versions at the end of each year).
From here you can download the interactive articles of the SNUDEBILLER:

...Open access service of the CURCULIO Institute...

Four years after their first appearance, the contributions will be released for all as open access publications (at present more than 80 articles: SN1/2000 - SN6/2005). Before you can use this extensive SNUDEBILLER-archive, please download and install the freeware version of the BOOKREADER program, too (as a member of the CURCULIO Institute you will obtain it with the last SNUDEBILLER CD at the end of each year).

Focus on the essentials!

Short nomenclature-relevant publications - as basic descriptions or notes on taxonomic changes - will be published as PDF files in the WEEVIL NEWS and will correspond to the original form and content of the printed ICZN-version on paper. Authors who intend to present an extended scientific version of these publications as revisions or other extensive contributions should publish at the same time (or later) on SNUDEBILLERonline. Its acceptance for publication will be determined by a scientific advisory committee of the editors of SNUDEBILLERonline and further independent experts.
Distinguishing marks, as well as theories and hypotheses in such redescriptions, revisions and scientific papers have to be accompanied by appropriate photographs in SNUDEBILLERonline (see SNUDEBILLER 1/2000 - 10/2009). Audiovisual clips can be used as well as the in-principle unlimited number of multicoloured photographs in nearly any size. Authors are expected to make use of innovative and new documentation methods (e.g. overlay and microphotography techniques, computer tomography) that could lead to further development of the BOOKREADER programme. With the acceptance of his paper the author commits himself to work in the scientific advisory council of SNUDEBILLER and to participate in decisions about the acceptance of new contributions for at least one year. In this way technical innovations should become part of taxonomic and systematic researches!
For the last 10 years the SNUDEBILLER has not been a scientific journal in a traditional sense, but a research programme for advancing pictorial documentation in entomology, mainly systematics and taxonomy. We intend to continue and intensify this development during the next several years by publishing largely standardised and short contributions in WEEVIL NEWS.
All these extensive scientific researches cannot be documented on paper, but will be transferred to the SNUDEBILLER CD/DVD and delivered to subscribers and members, as well as libraries and archives at the end of each year. Beyond our Internet presentations, long-term safekeeping of data has top priority in the CURCULIO Institute!
